About Anas Abdoun
Anas Abdoun is a geopolitical and macro risk strategist with over ten years of experience at the intersection of sovereign risk, energy security, emerging markets and geoeconomic strategy across Africa, the Middle East and Europe.
He works as an independent strategic advisor for corporate and institutional clients across Africa, the Gulf and Europe, with a focus on geopolitical risk, FDI strategy and sovereign advisory. His work has included strategic advisory connected to a major national oil company on African market dynamics and infrastructure opportunities, and senior analytical work for the Moroccan Prime Minister’s Office on the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline.
Previously, he spent a decade as Senior Analyst for Africa and the Middle East at Stratas Advisors, producing country-level risk assessments, geopolitical scenarios and executive intelligence for international energy companies and institutional clients.
His analysis has been published or cited by the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Al Jazeera English and Le Monde. He lectures on geopolitical risk and economic intelligence at the École de Guerre Économique network, and is a member of the Institut Marocain des Relations Internationales (IMRI) and the Institut International d’Études Géopolitiques (IIEG).
